Miami, (Abril 29, 2022) Redacción Doral First. La Comisión de Miami aprobó por mayoría la construcción del complejo deportivo y comercial más grande en la historia del sur de Florida. El “Miami Freedom Park” fue aprobado por votación de 4 a 1 derrotando a su férreo detractor, el comisionado Manolo Reyes.
El proyecto estará ubicado en predios aledaños al Aeropuerto Internacional de Miami, tendrá un costo de 203 millones de dólares, generará 15 mil empleos y traerá utilidades por valor superior a los 3 mil millones de dólares.
La candidata a la Comisión por el Distrito 12, Sophia Lacayo, dijo que se trata de una gran obra de mucho beneficio para todos los residentes del sur de Florida.
“Todas las obras que generen empleo, entretenimiento y calidad de vida a nuestros residentes, son bienvenidas y cuentan con mi apoyo… con el deporte construimos sociedades más sanas y si al mismo tiempo generamos empleo e ingresos para la ciudad, pues mucho mejor” dijo Lacayo.
El complejo deportivo tendrá un estadio para 25 mil personas y será la casa del equipo de futbol Miami-Inter. También incluirá una sede para el equipo de futbol femenino de Miami.
“La construcción de escenarios deportivos no solo sirve para apoyar a los equipos y al desarrollo de la economía, sino que contribuye a solucionar los problemas de empleo y la situación económica de miles de familias en nuestra región”, concluyó Lacayo.
