De esas multas 10 fueron directamente para autos equipados con escapes que exceden el nivel de ruido permitido dentro de áreas urbanas para vehículos tanto públicos como privados.
De acuerdo con los estatutos de Florida (FSS 316.272) todo vehículo de motor debe estar equipado permanentemente con un sistema de desfogue en buena condición y que opere constantemente con los aditamentos necesarios para evitar el ruido excesivo. En ningún caso el sistema debe superar los decibeles establecidos por el Departamento de Protección Ambiental en cooperación con el Departamento de Seguridad Vial y Vehículos.
