Doral, (Mayo 10, 2022) El Concejo y el alcalde de la ciudad de Doral han sido objeto de duras críticas por el manejo que dieron a la emergencia generada por la pandemia del COVID-19 especialmente durante los difíciles años de 2020 y 2021. En momentos en que los comerciantes y residentes de la ciudad se debatían entre la quiebra y los desalojos, el alcalde Juan Carlos Bermúdez, que actualmente aspira a la silla por el Distrito 12 dijo que “unánimemente decidieron no tocar los fondos de la ciudad”.
Gracias a esa decisión comerciantes cuyas familias dependían de sus negocios, tuvieron que cerrar sus puertas y familias enteras fueron desalojadas mientras las arcas de la ciudad seguían aumentando y los oficiales electos trabajaban en una ordenanza para garantizarse a sí mismos jugosas pensiones y beneficios de retiro.
Por esa razón y por las decisiones erróneas que el cuerpo colegiado ha tomado durante varios años, el candidato al concejo de la ciudad por la silla 4, Juan Carlos Esquivel, considera que todos deben ser cambiados. “El Concejo de Doral está para administrar y apoyar el presupuesto de la ciudad, no está solamente para hacer leyes y complicarle la vida a los residentes de la ciudad” dijo Esquivel.
“Uno de los trabajos de un alcalde y un concejal es traer negocios nuevos para la ciudad, esta gente lo que ha hecho es espantarlos, como es posible que no le dieron un centavo a ninguno de los negocios en plena pandemia y se auto asignaron una pensión fuera de serie eso es una burla” agregó el candidato.
“Todos se tienen que ir” Concluyó Esquivel.
